Option 2
How to Get Your Driver License Reinstated by Paying Your Past-Due Amount
STEP 1: Pay what you owe, in person or online.
IN PERSON
Contact your local clerk of court to find out if they accept payments for child support in person. Pay your past-due amount in full. You should be able to receive your reinstated driver license at a local DHSMV or tax collector office in approximately two to seven business days after paying the reinstatement fees with DHSMV.
ONLINE
Pay your past-due amount by credit card or electronic check at fl.smartchildsupport.com. You should be able to receive your reinstated driver license at a local DHSMV or tax collector office in approximately 5 to 11 business days after paying the reinstatement fees with DHSMV.
You can check to see when your payment is received by accessing Child Support eServices.
Note: If you decide to pay at the clerk of court or online at fl.smartchildsupport.com or MyFloridaCounty.com, you will need to pay the total past-due amount, as well as any other amounts that are due and unpaid, to have your driver license reinstated. Please contact the Child Support Program to find out the amount you will need to pay.
You can also provide your employment information to the Program to have your employer apply payments to your child support case(s). Once the Child Support Program begins receiving payments, the DHSMV will be notified to reinstate your driver license.
STEP 2: Pay your reinstatement fee with DHSMV.
After the Child Support Program receives your payment or you complete a written agreement to repay your past-due amount, pay your driver license reinstatement fee online at MyDMVPortal.flhsmv.gov or visit your local DHSMV or tax collector office to pay the license reinstatement fees. These fees must be paid before you can obtain your reinstated driver license.
If your license has been suspended for reasons other than child support, full reinstatement of your license may not be possible until you resolve all outstanding non-child support reasons for suspension.
