Income Withholding
The Child Support Program automatically sends income withholding for support notices to a parent's employer when the employer is known. The employer withholds child support payments from the employee's income and sends the payments to the Florida State Disbursement Unit. The State Disbursement Unit sends the payments to the parent who is owed support.
The Child Support Program also sends income withholding for support notices to other income sources (for example, the Social Security Administration). The Program receives information from many sources to identify employers and other sources of income.
