Business, Professional or Recreational License Suspension
Business, professional and recreational licenses may be suspended for nonpayment of child support. This includes licenses issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Florida Department of Health, Florida Department of Education and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Before a business, professional or recreational license is suspended, the Child Support Program mails the parent who owes support a notice of intent to suspend the license asking the parent to contact the Child Support Program to discuss options for paying the child support.
The parent has 30 days from the date on the notice to do one of the following:
If none of the above actions are taken within 30 days, the Child Support Program notifies the appropriate State licensing agency to suspend the business, professional or recreational license(s).
