Workers' Compensation
In Florida, Judges of Compensation Claims (JCC) approve workers' compensation settlements. If a parent owes past-due support and receives a workers' compensation settlement, the Child Support Program may receive part of the settlement to pay child support. The JCC decides the amount that is applied towards child support.
The Child Support Program mails a notice to the parent who owes support informing them of their rights and responsibilities.
